Rhode Island, Oct 14, 2020 -- From Westerly to Woonsocket to Warren and beyond, Rhode Islanders are encouraged to enjoy the fresh, healthy, and locally produced food that surrounds them. The “Rhode Trips and Treats” program provides the public with a comprehensive list of farm stands, fish markets, farmers markets, retail shops and other local food venues that offer the absolute best of Ocean State eating.Un
Participants are urged to show their love for local food! $500 in local gift cards and locally made products are up for grabs! The program runs from October 1, 2020 - Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2020.
In Rhode Island, we take pride in our good food and drink! Local food is not only a way of life, it is also a way toward a healthy lifestyle. We want to encourage you to explore new communities and celebrate the abundance of delicious destinations throughout the State! Now is a time we are all more conscious of what we consume. Where does this food come from? Is it healthy for me and my family? Is it healthy for the local economy? Supporting local food and local businesses is one of the best ways to help keep our economy and our community strong.
Food foragers are encouraged to visit the various venues, take a selfie and post it with the hashtag #rhodetripsandtreats to the Facebook and Instagram pages of Hope & Main, the nonprofit incubator and Chiropractic Society of Rhode Island to be entered into a raffle for a wide range of bountiful food baskets and restaurant gift certificates.
